Great!

This week, I am grateful that I got the LLL scholarship in the first attempt, it will definitely help me in my next four years of College. Also, the interview i had on Tuesday for the Meritus scholarship that i will hopefully get. This week has been full of surprises for me because I also finished my last essay for the last book in AP English class. I am grateful for the oportunities that have been offered to me that will help me achieve my goals in the future.

Philosophy

People have different perspectives of life, is either black and white or a colorful fulfilled with many many opportunities. In my opinion is due to their evryday lives and the type of life they grew up in. Not only that, but also they way their minds progresses different situations. People are just very optimistic and no matter if negative things keep happening to them, they take it as a way to push their limits to reach a certain goal. In the other hand people who are pessimistic just give up in life/goal because they have probably failed in one of their goals. Life is not perfect and will never be, and if you never fail in life, you will never know how success feels like. The failures that we experience is to push ourselves and to get out from our comfort zone and to realize what we are capable of becoming and achieving. Life offers many different things and choices and it is up to ourselves to choose how we want to view life.

Project deadline

When a deadline is coming up and i do not have the resources to finish it, it becomes a stress. However i know that it is my responsibility to meet that deadline. My strategy to do so is to complete it using my own knowledge of the programs and the only resources available to me. I would work with the only things that i have, if it has to do with pictures. I usually dont ask others for help because, they have deadlines to meet as well, and sometimes it is very stressful to meet our own deadlines and help others as well.

The world

To choose something, that i would like to see different about the world, is kind of hard for me to choose something. But what i would say is to stop the violence against violence because it leads to negative conclusions. For example 9/11 is one of the reasons why we are now in war. The war has led us to poverty in our country. Country who has been ontop of evryone else, and knowing that everyday that passes always goes down, is depressng. especially because i do not know what my future holds for me, and i expect the best. sometimes the best feels out of reach. The war is to blame, of the economy of today.

Breaking the Rules

One of the things that i have done wrong lately was not so long ago. For example about two Thursdays ago i came decided not to come to school for the first half of the day. I had not done that in a long time, and i decided to that day. i broke one of the rules that my mom always said to me. To always behave and take care of myself. I wasn't doing anything bad, but just the fact of skipping part of the day makes it breaking the rules. i doubt that it will happen again, but there is always the influence of others around us. I always have trouble saying no to the things that are wrong but not that big. Of course if someone jumps off the bridge i wont do that either.

Define Culture

In my opinion culture is what describes your background. There are a lot of different cultures due to different races around the world. Culture is what the different activities that you do, the type of clothes that you wear, the food that you eat and many more. For example the type of life style that many of us have and what our ancestors had. I'm mostly Guatemalan and is very different from other races. We also have what we call May first to celebrate the Latino culture and as we have a day other races do as well. It is a very good day to learn about other cultures and get out of the ignorance of those cultures who might play a big role now in our society.

Yearbook reflection

I turned the yearbook page on time. I tried to do my best but, because of my lack of understanding on Photoshop i was not able to do it more fancy, or nice.

In Love!

As a teenager, love is about exploring different emotions once you are in a relationship. A relationship never goes the way you want or plan. But often teenagers forget that is about communicating with each other and agree even when they both disagree. Relationships end due to the fact, and is often hurting the academics because of the impact that the other person has made in your life and suddenly leaves.

A relationship has not made me forget about my academics completely. Yes, for a minute i kind of forgot about my surroundings and my grades were going down. But at the same time i realized that it was time for me to handle my academics a little bit better. I realized that the person was not always going to be there so it was time to step up my game.

yearbook reflection

The page that i will be turning in first is the table of contents, but is harder than i thought it would be. I need to get what is on the 40-50 table of contents. I have most of it, done i just need to put it together. But the class today will not be enough to finish it. Hopefully i will be done by Friday, but the website page i will not be able to turn it in this week. The Table of Contents is connected to the iVoice because it looks like an iPod ad. It will also include someone shouting so it will make the connected to the theme a little bit more.

Black and White Seniorities

Not everyone is being affected by seniorities, but there are students who are. I am one of those students, especially because second semester is where we get our acceptance letters from Colleges and so we think that school is not that important anymore. I do not do my work with the same quality i did first semester or if i do i turn it in late. However i came to an understanding that it is one of the most important ones because it determines how much money i will get for tuition and the costs of the college.

How do you use space on website...

I decided to use pink and purple in my lay out because they're my favoreite colors. But i did use other colors in my background and font. The reason was because i did not want my page to be boring so i used other colors to spice it up a little bit. As well as the font to make it look interesting for smeone to keep reading my page.

The way i used my space was very simple. I had a circle in the middle of the page with information about me. And i had little boxes on top all across the page that linked to websites that i look up most of the time and that explains what i am all about. But i still need to fix it up a little bit, because as in now i have a lot of free space.

Match Makers

For the month of love, which is coming up in about 3 more days people prepare the best for their partners. For example my uncle married his wife about 4 years ago in February 14Th. In my opinion i think is very romantic that their anniversary is in the month of love. They are a very happy family, in the other hand there are families that are not as happy and the month of love bring them very sad memories. For some families is a time to celebrate, for others is time to move on.

How do you use captions

The first yearbook page that i am working on is the "Table of Contents". I will not be using pictures, or i am but it will have to do with the sections that are in it. IE. Sports, i will be having a picture of a team in our school. At the right hand side i will have the word "iVoice" which is our theme for this years' portfolio. I will also be having the school's colors, green and white. The text will be black, because it stands out the most. I am getting my ideas from a book that the teacher provided me, and just making it my own. I will not be using the black and white hallway picture because, in my opinion to be the first page it sounds a little boring and that is not what Leadership is all about.

Money Matters

Money matters at all times. It has been a year that i started working because i was tired of always depending on my parents. I decided to do things on my own. But before that i would always ask my mom after she received her pay check. That's how i would get my money. But i don't ask my friends for money. It is actually fun to work because is exciting to get the paycheck. And my job at the museum is fun so I'm ok with it.

Yearbook Timeline

My first yearbook page is "The table of Contents". I have a pretty good idea of what i want to do. My idea is to make it similar to the cover of the yearbook, that means i have to work with the person in charge of that, to make sure i have the same theme. I have been searching for better ideas to create a very interesting table of contents. I'm pretty sure that in three classes i will be able to finish it.

Taking Advantage

I take advantage of Leadership, when i use my hall passes. Every time i ask to go to the bathroom i always go to the water fountain and the bathroom, which takes more then five minutes. Is not a big thing, but we only get two passes a quarter and is not enough. I don't take advantage of teachers though, i think is disrespectful, in a way. However it all depends what kind of advantage it is. When is about learning something new, then i pay attention and take advantage of that time. Thinking that i will ot have another chance to learn it.

Web Design Elements

My favorite websites are www.yahoo.com, www.google.com and www.wetseal.com. It looks like they used the "3, 5th rule" and "C.R.A.P" these rules make the website interesting to look up all the time. The use of color for example makes the website fun to look at, the different colors they use gets attention from anyone. But a simple page like google also gets attention because colors are not always a thing that will take someone's attention, but the alignment they use. The alignment makes the websites easier for the visitors to find what they are looking for. Is not confusing.

For our yearbook, two things that are important are color and alignment, because it makes it fun to look at and the mood does not change. After a while of looking at it you're still focus the same way you started.
